Situated on 800 hectares, this private mountain estate lies within the UNESCO declared world
heritage site of the Cape Floristic Region.
Spend a few days in the comfort of our farmhouse or enjoy the privacy of a original vernacular
cottage. We serve a continental breakfast and local speciality dinners. Luncheon picnics can be
arranged on request.
While on the estate, view bushman paintings, walk in the mountain, bird watch, horse ride or
swim. Picnic at the riverside or enjoy dinner by starlight around a campfire. Children can
participate in various farming activities.
Easy day trips include the Cango Caves, Swartberg Mountain Pass, Oudtshoorn’s Ostrich farms,
Calitzdorp port and wine tasting. Enjoy some of the best beaches in the country, only 100km away.
In winter visit one of the nearby hot water springs.
Living Water Mountain Estate is home to the historic Donkey Route into the Gamkas Kloof Valley
"The Hell".
